About

Therapy that fits your life.

Alexandra McKenzie, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York, Florida, Texas, and Virginia with over 5,000 hours of clinical experience serving both pediatric and adult populations. Long before earning her degrees and certifications, Alexandra’s path into this field began at home. In 2002, her younger brother was diagnosed with bilateral profound deafness. Her family was suddenly faced with navigating complex decisions, extensive research, and the reality of intensive therapy to ensure his success. Alexandra immersed herself in the process — learning sign language, attending therapy sessions, reading to him daily, and helping him make sense of a world without sound. After receiving cochlear implants, her brother attended more than 10 hours of speech and hearing therapy each week. Alexandra sat in on those sessions, not only to support him, but to understand how those strategies could be carried into everyday life at home. What he received was far more than weekly appointments — it was constant, intentional support woven into daily routines. Today, he is a college graduate pursuing a doctoral degree. That experience shaped Alexandra’s understanding of what truly drives progress: consistency, accessibility, family involvement, and therapy that fits into real life — not just a clinic schedule. This philosophy became the foundation for The SLP Therapy Lab. The SLP Therapy Lab was created to provide modern, flexible, and highly personalized speech, feeding, myofunctional, and occupational therapy services through telehealth. The practice serves both children and adults, focusing on how individuals function, communicate, eat, breathe, and thrive in their daily environments. Through this model, families and individuals are able to receive expert care when and where they need it most.
